The Heart of Tantra Yoga System
First and foremost, yoga is an experiential path of awakening, one that invites direct investigation rather than belief. This begins by recognising that we are, in some way, asleep, and allowing that recognition to become the starting point of our exploration into Truth.
The Heart of Tantra is most valuable for those with a burning desire to answer the fundamental questions of life: Who am I? What is reality? It is a path for those whose lives are guided by this inner movement and longing to know.
Once we become serious about discovering Truth, our journey often oscillates between the pain of recognising the extent of our unconsciousness and the joy of increasing peace, presence and surrender.
Many people come to The Heart of Tantra seeking greater peace, relief from psychological suffering, healing from illness or support through a difficult period in life. It is my experience that consistent, holistic yoga practice can support all of these. More often than not, these challenges become gateways, inviting us into a deeper exploration of ourselves and the spiritual path.
The system draws primarily upon Classical Tantric Yoga, particularly the non-dual Śaiva traditions, together with the Satyananda lineage and insights from Mindfulness-Based Core Process Psychotherapy. It is an integral approach to the cultivation of our physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual lives.
If your aim is to become stronger, more flexible, calmer or healthier, these benefits should naturally arise through regular practice. They are valuable, but they are not the full scope of the work.
The deeper invitation is an ever-growing recognition of stillness, presence and the subtle expansion of awareness beyond our habitual sense of self. From this perspective, yoga becomes a lived enquiry into the nature of consciousness itself and, ultimately, a freedom from habitual identification with the mind.
My intention is not simply to teach techniques, but to create the conditions in which genuine awakening can become a lived possibility.
Whether you come seeking healing, greater balance or a deeper understanding of yourself, the practices are designed to meet you where you are. For some they remain a way of cultivating health and wellbeing. For others they become the beginning of a profound journey into the heart of Being.
